Donation Guide

Haworth Parish Church has a five-year Restoration and Improvement Plan. So far it has completed the restoration of the building’s south-facing roofs at a cost of £237,000 and it is now embarking on the restoration of the north-facing roofs.

The Church has been given a Development Grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund and if that is completed successfully will be able to apply for a second-stage grant. But we still have to raise quite an amount of funding to  make a contribution to the Hertiage Lottery Funding Process while, at the same time, continuing to run and maintain this wonderful Church building.

It costs in the order of £1,000 per week to do keep the Church building going and we don’t receive any aid from either the Church of England or the Government. So we have to raise every penny by ourselves.

The congregation makes a massive contribution with its regular giving; we stage fund-raising events like Christmas and Spring Fayres and the Friends of the Brontes’ Church has a sales stall as well as staging concerts to further boost funds. We are also asking the visitors to the Church to help us in this massive task by making donations via the safes which are dotted about the Church building.

You too can help by simply going to this web site’s Donation Button and make a donation via PayPal.

Or, you can send a cheque or Postal Order made out to ‘Haworth Church Restoration Fund’ to: The Treasurer, Haworth Parish Church Restoration Fund, 17 North View Terrace, Haworth, Keighley, West Yorkshire, BD22 8HJ. We very much regret that we do not have card payment facilities and should you require an acknowledgement of your donation it would be very helpful if you could send The Treasurer a Stamped Addressed Envelope. This will enable more of the Church’s funds to be directed at the funding short-fall.
