A Curate for 2019

We are delighted to let people know that Anthony Bennett will be coming to work in our two parishes next year. He is currently training for ordination on a full-time theological course which includes spending an extended amount of time getting experience of ministry in the parish of Keighley. He will be ordained on 29th June 2019 (St Peter’s Day) in Wakefield Cathedral. After that he will continue to live with his family (and their donkeys) in their rural home near the Dog & Gun between Oxenhope and Denholme – and begin working full-time as a Curate with us. It is usual for newly ordained Curates to spend between three and four years completing their training in a first parish – and we are grateful to the Bishop for entrusting us with the creative possibilities and supervision responsibility of having a Curate working with us. We are glad now that his appointment has been announced and we can begin to pray for him publicly!
