At the middle of Easter Week

The latest thing on our Facebook page (https://fb.me/haworthparishchurch), put up this morning by our Curate (Anthony Bennett), is a video of his family’s prayers above Thornton Moor at dawn on Easter Day.  There is also a link on that page for the weekly Breathing Space virtual meditation group which he runs each Friday at 3.00 p.m.

The latest thing at our Bronte Virtual Church blog (brontevirtualchurch.blogspot.com.), put up this morning by our Rector (Peter Mullins), is a reflection and prayers growing out of both Anthony’s service for Easter dawn and our churches’ shared Easter mornings service (which can also be replayed from our Facebook page or charged at local call rates, on 01535 286387).

Meanwhile information about care of our community remains:

Clearly most support of the isolated and vulnerable is being done by good neighbours looking out for each other – and those church members who are able to do so are most effective simply mucking in and doing that.

We do have a small number of church members who have offered to respond to needs not being met by immediate neighbours.  They have only been deployed a small number of times so far.  So do ask via rector@haworthchurch.co.uk or 01535 648464 if you have or spot a need.

Those at West Lane Baptist Church in particular (with others) are developing and staffing the Worth Valley Food Bank.  This may be moving to a referral system (rather than an open drop-in at set times) so if you know of anyone who needs a referral to access this, again ask via the e-mail or phone contacts on the last paragraphs.  Donation points include a bin at the Spar near the Railway Station.

Those organising the local Government-resourced ‘hub’ for volunteers are grateful for all that good neighbours and churches are doing so that it is not swamped itself, but those who want to ask for help or to volunteer are encouraged to leave a message at 01274 431000.

Also, at the best of times we were already commending Keighley Pathways as an impressive resource (with a listening ear and with access to expertise in specialist areas), and its latest information focuses on its phone number (01535 608631) available 1.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. on weekdays.
