What we’re doing during June…

Thy Kingdom Come…

Thy Kingdom Come is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus.  What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.  Praying together for the 10 days between Ascension (Thursday 29th May) and Pentecost (Sunday 8th June), we are going to join in this wave of prayer around the world in 2 ways:

  • coming together for a Benefice Prayer Service on Sunday 1st June
  • Committing to ‘pray for five’ over these ten 10days.

Benefice Prayer Service

Sunday 1st June, 4pm at St James’s Cross Roads.  An opportunity to gather together to pray – d by our

prayer coordinators – as part of the Thy Kingdom Come global wave of prayer.  Everyone is welcome to this engaging time of prayer.

Pray for Five

A key part of Thy Kingdom Come has been the encouragement for each of us to pray every day for 5 people who we know  especially praying that they will come to know Jesus.  These 5 people might be friends, family members, colleagues…  Praying for them could be as simple as taking a couple of minutes each day to quietly remember their names and faces and hold them in the light of God’s love.  We trust that God knows them and loves them, and we ask that they will come to know the life and hope of knowing God too!

Who will your five people be?

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, in earth as in heaven

Giving and Generosity

Most of the budgeted spending that allows us to be present and active as a church community comes from regular giving from church members and supporters.  Thank you to everyone who contributes to this!  If you would like to find out more about giving, including regular giving through direct debit or volunteering opportunities, then please get in touch for a conversation.

Listening and Caring

We have people who would be happy to listen and pray with you.  Please ask whoever has been leading the service today, or contact Oli.
