St Michaels and All Angels’, Haworth

Garden Angels and Church Angels; Saturday 8th August, 10am-12noon at St Michael’s Haworth.  Something for everyone!  Always good fun and very satisfying.  Regular day is the second Saturday each month.  Contact Chris (Head Angel) or Jonathan (Church Warden) if you’re interested.

This team now has a WhatsApp group which you would be welcome to join – helpful for reminders, and to find out about extra sessions or social catch ups.

Coffee morning at St Gabriel’s, Stanbury

First Saturday each month 10am-12noon.  Friendly time together in this beautiful space.  See opposite for details of August special!

Summer Northern Pilgrimage Trip

Make the most of long summer days by joining this two day pilgrimage trip to visit 3 special sites in the North: Durham Cathedral (where both St Cuthbert and St Bede are buried), St Michael and All Angel’s Washington (where our own Madonna and Child on Toast is now on display), and Lindisfarne Holy Island (a key place in early British Christianity, and a very special sacred space still today).

To keep things simple and flexible everyone will arrange their own travel and accommodation (well worth car/room sharing if you can), and we will have agreed gathering points to share the journey together.

Friday 21st August: Durham Cathedral at 12noon, afternoon trip to St Michael and All Angel’s, Washington

Saturday 22nd August: 9am in the main carpark on Lindisfarne (rising tide means the causeway closes for 3hours at 9:25am so don’t be late!)

Contact Oli for more info or to express interest.

Safeguarding basic awareness raising training

Tuesday 18th August 7:30-9:30pm

in the hall at St James’s Cross Roads.

This training is for everyone within church settings who needs to have a basic awareness of safeguarding issues (helpful for anybody!).  Refreshments provided.  Talk to Oli or Sharon.

Haworth Mens Shed

Are you looking for a place to connect, make friends, or simply enjoy a friendly chat? Welcome to Haworth Men’s Shed, a growing community hub dedicated to improving wellbeing, combating loneliness, and fostering friendships right here in our village.

We are currently in the early, exciting stages of developing the Haworth Men’s Shed. We are currently meeting socially at the Hall Green Baptist Church (lower room) every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 1.00pm till 3.00pm. We are working hard to secure a permanent space in the village for our Shed, where we will be able to establish our workshop. Your involvement at this exciting stage in our development is invaluable, whether you have relevant skills, or simply want to support a local initiative. We want as many men to be a part of our journey as possible and benefit from this vital service in our village.

You don’t need an application, a CV, or a set of tools to join us and everyone aged 18 or over is welcome. Simply drop in to one of our regular meetings to see what we are about, enjoy a cuppa, and hopefully meet some new friends.

For more information, please email us at haworthmensshed@gmail.com or visit our Facebook page.

Stanbury Village Community Garden Party

Saturday 1st August, 11am-2pm.

Coffee, cake and camaraderie in this beautiful space.

All are welcome to join in this lovely Stanbury community day with live music from TNG Social Accordion Group.  Raising money for Sue Ryder (Manorlands) and having a brilliant time!

Giving and Generosity

Most of the budgeted spending that allows us to be present and active as a church community comes from regular giving from church members and supporters.  Thank you to everyone who contributes toqrcode.png this!  If you would like to find out more about giving, including regular giving through direct debit or volunteering opportunities, then please get in touch for a conversation.
